Lumen Alumni Network Privacy Notice

Your privacy is important to us. As a former Lumen employee, you are a valued member of the Lumen community. We want to help you stay connected with other former Lumen employees and share information with you with respect to such things as job opportunities, new or expanded services and offers, and information about company and community activities. To do so, we must necessarily collect, process and share your personal information.  This Privacy Notice applies when you visit, register, or participate in the Lumen Alumni Network. It sets out the types of personal information collected, used and disclosed when you communicate with, engage in, or otherwise interact via the Lumen Alumni Network.

Required Information and How it is Used:

Because the Lumen Alumni Network is only open to former employees and retirees who left Lumen in good standing, we necessarily need certain information to identify you and, combined with information already in our records, confirm your prior work history with Lumen to determine eligibility.  When you register, you must provide:

  • full name
  • month and day of birth
  • Lumen employee email address

If the above information is inconclusive or not enough to uniquely identify and verify your employment, further information may be required such as:

  • job title
  • start or end date
  • work location
  • other identifying information to your time with Lumen

This information will be used for identification and verification purposes only and except for your name, will not be visible to other participants unless you choose to disclose it.

Optional Information and How it is Used:

We may also ask you demographic information to use for identification and verification, analytics, and website content improvements. Providing the demographic information is optional.

The Lumen Alumni Network will allow you to connect to other former employees and retirees and to stay updated on items of interest. The more information you provide, the more meaningful those connections and relevant the content may be to you. For example, there may be a group for retirees who may receive updates on benefits-related activities relevant to that retiree group, or you may be most interested in connecting with others that share a similar job history or are in the same geographic area.

To help facilitate those interests and connections and to provide information more relevant to you, the Lumen Alumni Network allows you to share information in your profile that includes:

  • current and past employment experience such as employer name, title, industry, function and job description
  • a profile picture and other contact information such as email address, phone number, LinkedIn profile, and geographic location or address
  • your preferences with respect to receiving communications such as your preference for being contacted about job or business opportunities, sharing expertise, contract work, or other newsletters

Providing this information is optional and you may edit your profile at any time, including your preferences with respect to communications. Personal information you choose to post, share, upload or make available via the Lumen Alumni Network will be visible to Lumen , Enterprise Alumni, and others who join this site.
